- Users are not authorized to install software on IT Reeves County resources connected to or operating within the network.

- Software requests require approval from the requester’s manager and submission to the IT Director or Help Desk in writing or via email.

- Approved software must be selected from the IT Department's maintained list, unless no selection meets the requester’s needs.

- The IT Department is responsible for obtaining and tracking software licenses, testing new software for conflicts and compatibility, and performing installations on IT Reeves County resources.

B. Policy Administration and Enforcement:

- Administered and implemented by the IT Reeves County IT Department.

- Exceptions can be requested through the RCIT Help Desk procedure.

- Approval for exceptions must be obtained from either the Network Architecture or the IT Security Team in advance.
